Overall, you can’t go wrong with The iGolf neo Pocketsize Golf GPS unit. I have improved my game since I got it and it makes golfing a lot more enjoyable. I no longer get lost or disoriented when golfing which is probably my favorite thing about it. It was also cheap and user friendly, which makes it a great buy. Here are a couple reviews from golfers who have purchased the IZZO Swami 1500 Golf GPS Unit:
Tucker says, We ordered the Izzo swami 1500 from Amazon received it on time immediately hooked it up to my computer and loaded my home course and played nine holes the same day i got it and it worked just as advertised. The Swami really helped me choose the right club. The next day I went on to Amazon and ordered the Izzo Swami 1500 for my wife. I also called and requested a few courses that were not available and while the company states an unmapped course will be mapped within 5-10 business days, I was notified by e-mail four days later that the courses that I had requested were mapped. The courses were easily loaded into my Swami. When we got my wifes Izzo Swarmi it unfortunately went wacky so I called Swami support the next morning, and in less than 24 hours she had a new fully charged Swami in her hands loaded with her course choices. The new unit works great! Great friendly customer service! Review has been paraphrased for size. Click here to read the full review
Ben Says, Best GPS unit for the money. I have used it on 5 different courses, yardages are right on with Sky Caddie and other more expensive units that my buddies own. You have to remember to advance the unit to the next hole (it does not do it automatically). Even without knowing this I would still purchase this unit. P.S. The company’s customer service is definitely the best (they answer e-mails and do everything they can to enhance the product). Sandman says, As always before I make a costly purchase I did my research on alot Golf GPS units before I decided to purchased the Bushnell Yardage Pro XGC unit and boy am I am glad i chose the XGC Heres is why i love the XGC: Battery life is excellent. I only use 20% of the battery life per round of golf. The color golf course map and the scorecard is awesome and very useful. Most of my courses I play have the map feature. You can get a scoring summary (birdies, pars, bogeys, putts etc) at any time during the round. The color screen is excellent and you can change the contrast setting at any time. My yardages are right on. This has saved me many strokes! Very easy to download the courses from the Bushnell website to the unit. Best of all the price is great for what you get. This review has been paraphrased for size. Click here to read the original review
Golfer Says, Here is why i love this golf gps unit: Its easy to use on course. Accurate yardages. Probably taken 5-7 strokes off. Holds 100 courses. The course maps, distances to hazards are great. It’s compact so it fits into my pocket without being distracting and battery life is great. The only cons i’ve found are: The interface to download courses is a little slow. Be patient when downloading, then just be sure to check downloads to make sure the course was fully downloaded. For a low price you get 100 course downloads or credits. An 18 hole course is 1 credit but if a course has 27 holes it uses 3 credits. Overall this is a great unit especially for the price. This review has been paraphrased for size. This means that you can use this tool under the USGA rules to effectively improve your golf game.
Update: This golf gps unit is currently on sale at Amazon by clicking this link here
The Garmin Approach G5 is durable, compact, waterproof and it comes with a with 3-inch sunlight-readable touch screen and weighs in at just 6.8 ounces with batteries. One of the best features that the Garmin Approach G5 offers is the thousand of preloaded golf courses. Not only that, but there is no annual fee like some other golf gps units. This is important because it can give you an added edge as to how each course is laid out from the fairways to the greens. Using the Approach G5 takes the guess work out of determining your shot distance with pin point accuracy to within a few inches of your target.
Here are some other unique features that the Garmin Approach G5 offers:
- Equipped with IPX7 waterproofing which means that the device can withstand accidental immersion. This doesn’t mean you can throw it into the water after you “worm burn” your ball into the pond but it will hold up if you accidentally drop it into some water.
- The digital scorecard will keep score for you as well as 3 other players for later review via your computer. This will help any golfer to accurately monitor their progress and update the device to their favorite courses based upon their own experiences.
- Touch Your Target. Want to measure the distance for your next shot? Simply touch any point on the display, and The Approach G5 shows the precise distance to that exact spot whether its the fairway; hazard; landing area; or the front, middle, and back of the green.
- Get on the Green. You can zero in on the pin with The Approach’s Green View. Just tap the flag on the map to zoom in on the green then you can drag the flag to position it where you see it, giving you the most accurate yardage.
When you put all of the different elements together, it is clear that the Garmin G5 can help any golfer from any skill level play more intelligently. This is important because golf is game of strategy and making the right play at the right time, with the G5 you will improve in all areas of your game.

If you are still not convinced that the Garmin Approach G5 is the right golf gps unit for you then check out these reviews from golfers who use the G5:
George Says, I use this on local courses and it performes great. No more looking for markers or taking the time to walk off an estimate especially when I’m not in the fairway. My course has large greens and being able to simply move the flag on the device for a much more accurate reading is awesome! Those occasional great drives I have the G5 made it simple to get the exact yardage. Only 1 of my 7 courses is not programmed in yet but it’s on schedule in the next update. If yours isn’t, simply let Garmin know like I did. This unit is great! Update note: Today I downloaded Garmins latest course database to the device and now all my courses are available. This review has been paraphrased for size. Click here to read the review in it’s entirety
Steve Says, The Garmin Approach G5 is in my opinion the best GPS based golf gps unit on the market. And there are NO fees. I have been using it for a while now it is accurate and easy to use. For those golfers happy with yardages to the middle of the green there is nothing better. It is possible to move the pin around in the detailed green view, but its a guess as to where the actual pin is on the green. Useful for large greens or courses you know well. The score card, shot measure, and preview course are all great features that work great. Also You don’t need line of sight to the pin like you do with the laser range finders. The only problem with this device is that it is not rechargeable. This is the only reason I didn’t give it five stars. Regular alkaline batteries last a round and a half but I purchased two sets of rechargeable batteries. One set will last around two and a half rounds. Overall this unit performs great! Is The Upro Golf Gps by Callaway the best golf gps? Check out the review
If you are looking for a fully functional yet unobtrusive golf gps then you really have no need to search any further. The Upro Golf Gps by Callaway sports one of the sleekest designs on the market. The Upro Gps will fit perfect in your pocket or belt holder without having to worry about some clunky object interfering with your golf swing.
A lot of golf gps units on the market take a while to actually locate the course you are playing. Not the Upro. The Upro Golf Gps offers the fastest startup time of any golf GPS system, with an extremely fast Gps locking system. The Upro also uses high Gps sensitivity so the uPro Gps remains locked even under cloudy, rainy and other extreme conditions.
The Upro Golf Gps will start you out by providing you with aerial and satellite images of the golf course, so you can see what the holes look like before you play them. The unit’s built-in GPS system will clearly locate the hazards and flagsticks, so you know what you’re up against at any moment. You can see different views of the fairways, check out the upcoming sand traps and water hazards, or receive a distance marker so you select the correct club for your shot.
Update: The Upro Golf Gps is available for a great price at Amazon by clicking this link here.
Another cool feature that the Upro Golf Gps offers is Smartview technology. Smartview will actually anticipate any hazard that you will face on your next shot, so you can plan your shot based on the strengths of your game. Don’t think you can carry that water on your next shot? The Smartview technology’s dynamically generated “viewports” will tell you which area of the fairway or rough will provide a water-free path.
The Upro Golf Gps by Callaway offers 2 modes for downloading courses. In the Basic mode, the Upro will show the distance to the front and back of all hazards and tell you which type of hazard it is. Every hazard is automatically displayed in order based on your current position, and then is updated as you move throughout the hole. The Basic mode will also provide you a green view, with large, easy-to-read numbers that depict the distance to the front, center, and back of the green.
In the Pro mode is where you get some cool extras, the Upro Golf Gps offers a video flyover that lets you see the layout of the hole from the aerial point of view. You can see the 100-, 150-, and 200-yard markers to the center of the green. The Pro mode also offers scale-accurate measurements that are used to measure to and from any point on the golf course, even from the outskirts of the rough.
More features of the Upro Golf Gps by Callaway:
- The Upro does not require any additional software to connect with the Upro servers. Instead, you can easily download golf courses at Upro’s web site. Once you’re online, the web site gives you a list of all golf courses in the U.S. available in your choice of Basic or Pro mode on a click-and-buy basis.
- The Upro’s Gps technology also automatically determines which courses are nearby. And with an add-on software download, the device can accept voice commands to make menu navigation virtually hands-free.
- Compatible with Windows XP, Vista, and Mac OS X v10.4 or later (Windows 2000 is the oldest version of Windows that is compatible with the Upro).
- Comes with a rechargeable lithium-ion battery, a wall adapter, a USB cable, and a single free Pro mode download of any golf course
- A beautiful 2.2-inch high-resolution color screen
- The Upro Gps device comes with a six-month warranty.
- Update: The Upro Golf Gps is available for a great price at Amazon by clicking this link here.
Still not convinced? Check out what other golfers have to say about the Upro:
A.Tse Says,
It took me a while before I comitted to buying a GPS or rangefinder. The important things to me were 1) size, 2) ease of use, 3) accuracy and 4) overall lowest cost . I leaned towards the rangefinders at first but they are really bulky and a real pain for me to use. A GPS unit was my best option. The uPro GPS addressed all my issues. First of all, it is hands-down the most advanced unit out there by at least a generation or two. The size is the smallest out there and slips easily into a pocket. The GPS chip is from uBlox using their uBlox 5 chip which acquires a signal in one second from a cold start! All the “Basic” course mode information is free (just download from the website) which is better already than most competitors. The “Pro” mode costs extra but can be pretty cheap when bought as a bundle credit. This is where the unit shines as it utilizes the satellite/aerial photo for many of its competitive advantages: video flyovers, measuring from any point on the course, constantly updated distances to the current flag position. Amazing! The uPro is a very well designed device backed by a company that continues to improve on the software with regular updates that also add features beyond what were available at purchase. The software could use some improvement but it is not at all bad, just not as intuitive as I would like. Overall, I am extremely pleased by this golf GPS and would recommend it to anyone. Scott Says,
What I have learned in owning the product for a few weeks is that the performance is solid. In fact, with the exception of one issue, I have seen no evidence problems in the reviews. I use the device in Pro mode, but do choose to skip the flyover. The Anypoint is fantastic for getting yourself back in play with offline shots or for lying up. The yardages have been spot on in my experience. The next hole feature also works as promised. The yardages adjust within a second or two, so you can quickly plan your attack. The controls are very easy to operate. I believe you can’t choose a better device given my research of competitors before purchasing. The online system for downloading courses is slick, and while I was initially concerned because my home course mapping dates kept sliding back, the technical support team not only knocked out both of my clubs courses, but many in my area within nearly a week. My only issue to date has been that sometimes the “sync” process stalls out when downloading a course, and in my experience, you have to start the download over. Since this is simple software/firmware fix, I suspect this will be addressed quickly and update available to everyone as your routinely connect to the uPro server to grab additional courses you plan to play. Customer support has been very good despite their success and resulting call volume. Review paraphrased for size. Click here to read the entire review

Still not convinced that the Golf Buddy Pro GPS Range Finder is the right choice for you? Check out what other golfers had to say about it.
T.Chang Says,
After doing research on other the golf GPS units on the market and chose the GolfBuddy Pro because of its huge 20,000 course capacity, automatic course and hole recognition, ease of use, reasonable price, and lack of a subscription fee. They currently have about 12,000 courses mapped in the U.S. and another 4,000 outside the U.S. and they have been adding courses quickly. all i have to do is turn it on when I approach the clubhouse and the Golf Buddy Pro is ready to go on the first hole. I tested the accuracy against the 150 yd marker on 8 holes and found it to be very accurate. My favorite is the shot distance feature, which requires the push of just one button. It’s really useful to know how far I hit each club. Review paraphrased for size. Click here to read the entire review.
Mark P. Says,
I’ve had my Golf Buddy for 3 months now. The Golf Buddy Pro GPS Range Finder is GREAT!!! I have had no technical problems with my unit. My only advise is that before you go to a golf course make sure the course is downloaded into your unit. Just because it’s on the Computer Directory it may not be loaded into your unit. I found out the hard way. But after checking the computer i download courses (free of charge of course). I am not very good with computers and downloading stuff but these were very easy to follow directions. I followed them and it worked great. You can also delete courses that you will probably never play. The greatest thing is NO YEARLY FEE’S. Review paraphrased for size. Click here to read the entire review

Josh Says,
First off, I have to say that the customer service for this company is amazing. I ordered the golf guru through amazon.com and it arrived a couple days later. It is so easy to use and download the courses I wanted. The screen functions are easy to see and use. I love that you can map a course out if you want to. The statistics portion is awesome. As you play your round it will ask you at the end of each hole for your score, if you made GIR, FIR, and how many putts. At the end of the round you will get all your stats for the round, % of GIR, % of FIR, and avg. putts per hole. This is very handy if you’re into keeping stats. I would recommend this product to anyone who wants to know “how far away am I?” which is just about everyone. Review paraphrased for size. Click here to read Josh’s full review.
Kj Says,
I owned another brand Golf GPS unit. It was a good basic unit that provides front, center and back distances to the green. After a year, the internal memory would not retain the stored courses. That company would not help me so I bought a GPS Golf Guru. For the same price, this is a much better product. Not only does it give distances to the green, but it keeps your scores and statistics that can be uploaded for your USGA handicap. This unit was obviously designed by golfers for golfers. This is more than a GPS unit. It displays the battery level, signal strength and time. It’s a built in rechargeable battery, so you do not have to purchase batteries separately. The initial screen has the owner’s name and telephone number, so if lost, the owner can be contacted. The best feature is the free unlimited course downloads and if your course isn’t available they will add it within a week. Sweet! Review paraphrased for size. Click here to read the full review.
Attention Serious Golfers! The SkyCaddie SG5 Golf GPS Review Is Here.
Lets face it, as golfers we are always looking for an advantage over our buddies on the golf course. We know that 1 stroke could be the difference between winning a few “potato chips” or buying that round of “pops” after the round is over. With the SkyCaddie SG5 Golf GPS you will be given that advantage!
The SkyCaddie SG5 Golf GPS is made by SkyGolf. SkyGolf is a solutions integrator that utilizes proven technologies like GPS, Internet, mobile handsets, and proprietary content to answer to the oldest question in golf: “How far is it to….?” All the while respecting golf’s traditions and history. SkyGolf uses its advanced technology responsibly to improve pace-of-play, enhance golfers’ enjoyment of the game and increase participation for the good of the game of golf.
Update: The SkyCaddie SG5 Golf GPS is on sale at Amazon through this link here.
Here are the features that the SkyCaddie SG5 Golf GPS offers:
*The SkyCaddie SG5 Golf GPS is equipped with IntelliGreen technology, enabling golfers to measure the full depth and shape of the green from any angle of approach, both on or off the fairway. IntelliGreen graphics also provide an eagle’s eye view of the green via professionally recorded SkyCourses with an indicator representing a direct line-of-play from wherever you are on the course. Once your line of play is selected on the graphical green outline, it provides the minimum carry to get on the green, the maximum limit you have to the back of the green, plus you can adjust to obtain the third distance of the approximate flag location. All three distances are provided simultaneously from any direction as you approach the green. You can then frame your shot in a much larger target area and select the best club.
*A large color display (220 x 176 pixels) with automatic backlighting for easy viewing indoors and outdoors.
*Used on over 14,000 golf courses in 45 countries around the world. You should be able to find any course you want.
* Enough memory to store up to 10 courses.
*Uses the same advanced GPS system used by the U.S. military to compute distances to any point on a golf course.
*long lasting rechargeable battery that will provide up to 14 hours of continuous use.
*Lightweight and compact. The SG5 weighs only about 5 ounces and is about the size of a cell phone. So you will be able to get your reading and then clip it to your belt, take your shot and you won’t even feel it on your side.
*Water resistant. Now this doesn’t mean you can throw it in the pond after “worm burning” your approach shot and then fish it out with your ball retriever. What it means is that if you get stuck in the rain your SG5 will be fine.
So who should buy the SkyCaddie SG5 Golf GPS? The SG5 is meant for the somewhat serious golfer who is really trying to get that edge over their opponents by obtaining accurate green depths, minimum carries to the green or over a specific hazard, and flag location. If you’re a weekend hacker who really doesn’t care about the shape of the green and you are just trying to get the ball somewhere near the green on your 7th shot I would suggest starting out with a cheaper unit like the Golflogix Gps-8.

Scott Says, This product surpasses every expectation I had. The Skycaddie SG5 really speeds up your game because you don’t have to spend time searching for the yardage markers. Where SkyCaddie really shines is when your off target. When your drive is in the other fairway, SkyCaddie tells you what you really need to know: no more frustrating calculations based on how far over you are from your hole’s yardage marker (providing you can see it). IntelliGreen works well, and if you know exact pin placements it works even better. I started the season as a 12 handicapper, and shot my life-low of 75 (3 over) in October. Golfnut says, I recently bought the SG5 and have used it for 8 rounds. I also own a Bushnell range finder (without pin seeker). I find the SG5 much more useful. The best thing is knowing the distance to the front, middle and back of the green from any approach. Blind shot or uphill doesn’t matter at all. My third time out using it I shot the best round of my life. Every course in my are has been mapped and is available for download. All those on my golf vacation were mapped. I also bought the car charger so I can plug it in my car and not risk forgetting and leaving it home on charge. This has worked out great. My handicap has dropped from 13 to 11 so far. Overall – this thing ROCKS. Review paraphrased for size. Click here to read the full review
Should You Buy The Sonocaddie V300 Color Golf GPS Unit? Read This Review First.
What is the number one thing that every golfer wants to know before we hit our shots? The answer of course is distance to the green or how far is it to clear that water and which club to use. Using GPS satellite technology The Sonocaddie V300 Color Golf GPS Unit will calculate that distance from any point (if you’re like me this would be in the trees, swamp, or any fairway except the hole I’m playing) on the course to the green as well as any other target. By simply downloading your courses (the V300 stores up to 30 courses) into the Sonocaddie V300 via your computer you will have detailed information of every slope, hazard, curve and contour of your courses on an awesome high-resolution color 3D screen with backlight at your fingertips.
Cool features that the Sonocaddie V300 Color Golf GPS Unit offers:
*Shot Measuring. The V300 will accurately measure the length of every shot in a round and string them together for later review. So now you will know for sure if you should really be using that 7 iron for that 150 yard shot or if maybe next time you should use a 6 iron.
Update: This Golf GPS unit is currently available at the cheapest price by clicking this link here.
*Digital Scorecard. The V300’s digital scorecard and game analysis functionality allows you get rid of that paper scorecard and tiny pencils and keep track of your round digitally and perform an analysis based on pre-determined data points at the end of each round. The V300 will store up to 100 rounds so you can compare and analyze your rounds.
*Personalized Course Editing. Although the V300 is designed to download every known aspect of the courses of the world, no course’s links are static. This is where its editing and mapping functionality comes in. Whether you need to fill in a bunker or lengthen a tee or even remove a tree, with the Sonocaddie V300 you can can map, edit and save changes noticed on your favorite fairways right on the spot.
*Waterproof. Now this doesn’t mean that you can throw it in that water hazard when you duff your approach shot. But what it does mean is that while your buddies are scrambling to put away their GPS units when it starts to rain a little bit you won’t have to worry about the Sonocaddie V300 getting wet.
*Compact Size and Weight. Lets face it some of the golf gps units on the market are pretty big and bulky some of them you have to check your distance and the either set the unit on the ground or leave it on the cart. The V300 is 4.3 by 2.3 by 1.1 inches in size and weighs only about 5 ounces. You will be able to clip it to your belt with the included golf clip so that you have the convenience of always having the unit on you at all times.
Overall the Sonocaddie V300 Color Golf GPS Unit is for any golfer who takes the game somewhat serious and is trying to improve their game by getting accurate data and distances from tee to green. If you’re a golfer who only golf’s a few times a year and your only out there to have a few “pops” and you “worm burn” the ball every time you swing at it my suggestion is to go take some lessons and once you learn to get off the tee box then go out and get yourself the Sonocaddie V300. It will improve your golf game some more.

Spacecowboy says, I bought my Sonocaddie 9 months ago and i am a very happy owner of this golf GPS device. It comes with everything you need. This unit takes a little bit to get use to but its such a pretty unit and so well built that you don’t mind putting in a little time to figure it out. You will love all of the features of this unit. First off, its battery life is excellent. The battery can last at least 3 full rounds of golf. 2nd, the screen is bright and easy to see even in the sunlight 3rd, membership for the V300 is $30 and that’s it. you have access to every golf course in the world, posting your score and mapping requests and any updates. 4th, scorecard feature keeps track of your stats, greens in regulation etc…………..14th, my golf buddies are always asking me for their distances and then they make good shots too! Not thrilled with that, they ought to get their own caddie………………Review has been paraphrased for size. Click here to read the full review
Bigmac says, When I finally decided to purchase a golf GPS unit to help me save a few extra strokes, I researched a ton other products like the Callaway uPro, OnPar Touch Screen, Sky Caddie SG5, and the Golf Buddy. They all had great features, but only one had every feature that I was looking for and that was the Sonocaddie V300. The key decision areas for me were in this order: Accurate Yardage to Front/Center/Back of Green, Accurate Yardage to Hazards, Membership price, Number of Courses, Club Distance Tracking, Round Tracking, Scorekeeping, Statistics, and finally, a solid feel to Unit itself. When the Sonocaddie arrived I took it out on a local course for my test run, I knew the course has a GPS unit on the cart. Using the cart GPS unit and the Sonocaddie, I verified the yardage was super accurate – within 1-2 yards of the cart GPS all of the time. The 3-D representation of the hole was accurate on all of the holes played, and it was definitely helpful on identifying the hazards. The scorekeeping was easy, and the professional scorecard allowed me to analyze my round at the end to see where I need to improve. Lastly, the distance marking feature made me realize that I do hit my 5-Iron 190-200 yards, and my 6-iron 180-190, etc… This is a very helpful feature if you’re trying to understand your club distance and trying to manage your game effectively. The Customer Service was awesome, and in fact, took care of loading all of my courses on their website before I purchased the product……...Click here to read the full review.

Still not convinced? Here are what some owners of the Golflogix GPS-8 by Garmin have to say:
B Watson Says,
My Dad wanted to get a SkyCaddie so I started researching and found reviews were overwhelmingly in favor of the GolfLogix. I was a little skeptical of Golf GPSs, but I knew Garmin was a front runner in the GPS market so I decided to take a chance. I was not disappointed! My Dad said after the first time using it, it saved him ten strokes on his game. I’ve borrowed it a few times and it is indeed very accurate in terms of distance to green, hazards and layups. So far we have not noticed an issue with signal problems or innaccurate distances. The software was very easy to install, set up, and use (even for a technologically illiterate fellow like my dad!) and offers just about any course you could think of. I noticed the little par 3 course near my house was even listed, much to my surprise! Review paraphrased for size. Click here to read the full review.
Rick says,
I had a SkyCaddie, and the Golflogix GPS-8 is far superior. It’s easier to use, holds 20 downloaded courses, finds the course you are at (instead of scrolling through a list), is waterproof , cost far less to get a membership to downloadable courses, and turns on in seconds with distances (as opposed to minutes). I really like it and can’t imaging playing golf without it! Review paraphrased for size. Click here to read the full review
